巴塞罗那和北京拥有着将双方连结在一起的紧密纽带。这两座城市都曾举办过奥运会，同时又都是文化、知识、创意、革新和设计之都。双方在许多方面都有过积极地合作，北京国际设计周便是其中一例，这一实力雄厚、负有盛名的活动业已成为世界上最重大的艺术盛事之一。

　　巴塞罗那曾参与过前几届的北京国际设计周，而今年将特别以主宾城市的身份参加。缘于这一邀请，由巴塞罗那市政府和拉蒙∙尤伊学院主办、由巴塞罗那和加泰罗尼亚的各家企业、设计工作室以及专业人士协办的一系列活动项目将呈现在本届设计周上。其中包括与我们本土的设计、建筑、城市规划、当代艺术和美食相关的诸多讲座、工作坊、对话和视听作品放映。

　　此次巴塞罗那的阵容中还拥有多位知名的专业设计师以及在设计领域内倡导教育质量与卓越性的多所大学及培训中心。尤其值得一提的是正是在今年我们坐落于巴塞罗那设计中心大楼内的设计博物馆也正式对外开放。上述种种正体现了设计是我们这座城市最巨大的财富之一，而参与北京国际设计周则是向国际社会展示这一点的绝佳机遇。

　　作为市长，我衷心感谢北京国际设计周邀请巴塞罗那成为本届活动的主宾城市。我坚信我们在这一盛事上的表现必将进一步促进北京和巴塞罗那之间关系的密切发展。

　　Barcelona and Beijing are bound by close ties. Both are Olympic cities as well as capitals of culture, knowledge, creativity, innovation and design. They collaborate on many initiatives, such as Beijing Design Week, an established and prestigious event and one of the most important art happenings in the world.

　　Barcelona has participated at other editions of Beijing Design Week, but this year it has a special presence as guest city. To mark this invitation the city is presenting a program of activities organized by the City of Barcelona and the Institut Ramon Llull with the collaboration of companies, design studios and professionals from Barcelona and Catalonia. The proposal includes numerous conferences, workshops, talks and audiovisual presentations on Catalan design, architecture, urban planning, contemporary art and gastronomy.

　　Barcelona has a long roster of outstanding professional designers and schools and universities that prioritize quality and excellence in the field of design. It is noteworthy that the Design Museum in the Disseny Hub Barcelona building will open this year. This shows that design is one of Barcelona's greatest assets, and its participation at Beijing Design Week represents a rare opportunity to make it known worldwide.

　　As mayor, I am very pleased that Barcelona has been chosen as this year's guest city at Beijing Design Week. I am confident that our presence at this event will make a vital contribution to further strengthening ties between Beijing and Barcelona.
